SUP Yoga Instructor Training 25h
Course leader Ingela Holgersson
Since 2019, Ingela has been holding a 3-day SUP yoga instructor training that gives you the opportunity to safely transfer your knowledge as a yoga teacher from the mat and out on to the sea and the Stand Up Paddle board.
Ingela has been paddling herself since the late 80s and has worked professionally with paddling at Skärgårdsidyllen Kayak & Outdoor since 2012. Paddling and safety is her core and essence.
With Ingela, you will take a deep dive into the fundamental area of safety. The aim of the training is that you will be well prepared and confident in your role as a SUP yoga instructor. The safety mindset includes a safe and secure paddling technique, preparation for a class and how to design a class. It is about looking at internal and external factors such as equipment, weather and wind, but also about getting and sharing experiences. We will specifically go into the safety mindset when it comes to paddling in Swedish conditions and what to think about when it comes to cold and flowing water. As a course participant, you will be introduced to “Ocean Rescue” in addition to the usual lifesaving techniques that can be performed on a SUP board. You will learn how to safely introduce a beginner to paddling and you will be able to work on your own technique. You will be given tools so that you can build your own SUP yoga class from your foundation as a yoga teacher. You will use knowledge and previous experiences to crystallize your version of SUP yoga, but you will in addition be given a ready-to-use proposal for a class. You will get tips on how to develop your SUP yoga business and for those who wish, we will make a small but important contribution to the environment – a short beach cleanup on a suitable island in connection with one of the meals that we will have outdoors.’
